John 14-6 - "Decision - Eternity"

John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. I was watching the news recently and they had stuff on the next election on. The station was giving its take on what the issues and candidates were for this election in a segment they called "Decision 2010". That got me thinking, not about the elections (I already know who I am voting for) but about the biggest decision in my life. The decision I made to give my life to the Lord. It is an easy decision to make once the Lord has touched your heart and you have heard His words, but too many of us are unwilling to open our hearts, minds, and eyes to Him. Too many are unwilling to make the decision in their personal lives so they are lost. Others do not believe and think what they do while they are here is enough. They think that all they have to do is be good people and live a good life and thats it. Well, its not. Look at our passage again. John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. That does not leave room for doubt, it spells it out very clear. We can never be good enough to get to heaven on our own, only through Jesus' sacrifice and our belief in Him are we allowed access to the Father. Do not take a chance, make the decision in your life today. You can know God and His love. You can have life eternal with the father, you just have to choose to do so. If you do not know how, reach out to a pastor, another Christian, write me if you have to (jasonporter75@gmail.com) but do not put the decision off any longer than you already have. For those of us that already have decided to live for God, my question is this, are you living up to your end of the bargain? I do not feel that I am. If you are like me I challenge you to make the decision now to recommit to Him. We can decide if we want to be better people or not. We can decide to cut sin from our lives, we can decide to be better Christians. Saved or unsaved, we all have decisions to make in our lives. Now is the time to make up our minds as to who we want to be. Decision 2010 has nothing on "Decision - Eternity", so make sure you make the time to make your decision today. Tomorrow may be too late.
