Resist temptations in your life

In Matthew chapter 4 we see the temptation of Christ by the Devil. This is a powerful section of scripture as it shows us that if Satan will be bold enough to tempt the son of God, he will surely come at us. In the scripture we see that Christ was prepared, He knew the Word inside and out. Satan could not trick him or convince him of a lie as He knew the truth. Do we? We are easy pickings compared to Christ. And since we are made in His image, Satan hates us just as much as he does God. So we know he is going to make a run at us and do his best to destroy us and turn us away from the Lord. Satan does not want you to be happy. He does not want you to know God. He does not want you know Gods word. So he tempts you, he lies to you, he misleads you, and he gets you to doubt Gods love for you. How do we fight this though? It says in Ephesians 6:11 to "put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes". We have to do as Jesus did, know the word inside and out. We have to be firm in our convictions and be prepared when Satan tries to tear us from God's side. We also need to be in prayer. Through prayer we can ask God to strengthen us and reinforce us against whatever comes our way. Through Him we are strong, on our own we are weak. Temptation will always be there. Whether it is something small like cheating on a test or something big like cheating on your spouse, you will be tempted. Know the scripture, be in the word, and make sure your armor is on. Satan will not stop coming after you, are you prepared when he does?
