2 Corinthians 10:17 - Boast in the Lord

2 Corinthians 10:17 - "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord." What Paul is talking about here is bragging. We all brag to some extent. About our grades, our jobs, our family, or our accomplishments. We take pride in what we do and what we have. At times we can step over that invisible line and that’s when we run into problems. So when it says that Paul is boasting, why is it ok for him to do so and not us? After all, it says in James 4:16 "As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil." So what gives Paul the right to boast??? Notice what he is saying. He is not boasting in his accomplishes, he is boasting in the Lord. When we put the focus on Him and not us, it is ok to brag a little. He is the one that makes all else possible. In fact we are told to shout His name and His works from the mountaintops. Carry the news to all nations so that the world can learn of Him and His greatness. We have an awesome God! Don't be afraid to sing His praises. Get out there and brag all you want to for the Lord! Somehow, I do not think He will mind.
