In God We Trust

Take a US one dollar bill out of your wallet and take a look at the back of it. You will see the phrase “In God We Trust” on it. We see the words but lose the meaning. It’s no longer a basic truth in our lives; instead it’s just a phrase that most think is outdated or is just there because it was always there. Why is that though? Why don’t we trust God more than we do? Is it that we have gotten so jaded that we think we can only rely on ourselves or our close friends? I have news for you; those friends will fail you at some point. You think you can rely on yourself? I don’t think so. Even the hardest of bodies and wills can be broken over time. God on the other hand never breaks, He never fails, and He never leaves us. He is the rock on which we can stand at all times and in all situations. Simply put, He is the only thing that we can count on 100%. As we turn the page from 2010 to 2011, try to make an effort to put your trust where it needs to be. Put your trust in the Lord and allow Him to make your new year greater and more fulfilling than you ever thought possible. If you do, I promise you that 2011 will be a year to remember.
