It’s not what you do that’s important; it’s how you do it

It’s not what you do that’s important; it’s how you do it I was looking through a magazine this weekend and came by a quote from the late coach John Wooden. Coach Wooden was possibly the greatest coach of our time. One of the things that made him so good was that he had a way of putting things in a simple manner that all could understand. The quote that caught my eye was “it isn’t what you do that matters, but how you do it”. Now, Mr. Wooden was talking about stuff related to his basketball team but we can apply it easily to our daily lives as Christians as well. Look at what you do in your daily life. Now ask yourself, how do I do what I do? Do you do what you do daily willingly and with a joyful heart or do you do what you do out of obligation, just going through the motions? I can come to work daily and say I am grateful to have a job but if I am not doing the best I can and working with a good attitude, what am I saying? I can say that I love you as a brother or sister in Christ but if I never do anything that shows you that, how do you know? More than words are needed; it’s our actions that tell the truth. What are your actions telling those around you? Remember, it’s not what you do that’s important; it’s how you do it. Make sure your actions are showing that you are a Christian and that He lives in you.
