Letter to the church for the upcoming elections

As Christians, we identify with certain basic truths. We agree that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for our sins so that we may be forgiven. We believe that after Jesus was crucified He was raised up 3 days later conquering death and making a way for us to have eternal life. We are a conservative collection of people based on faith and the truth that is God’s holy word. As you prepare for yet another round of elections this November, please realize that you have the chance to help shape the world we live in more than ever before. We have the opportunity to send a message to the world that we are still a Christian nation and that we will stand for what we believe in. I urge you to take the time to see where the candidates stand on issues that we in the faith deem important. We are facing issues regarding same sex marriage, immigration challenges, and most important, abortion. All of these issues could see major votes in the next 2 years and we need to do all we can to make sure that the people we have in office are thinking and voting with an eye towards Christ. We are on this earth but a short time in the grand plan of things so it is up to us to do as best we can while we are here. We are charged with the Great Commission: go forth and make disciples. However, we also need to make sure that the country we live in reflects Christian beliefs to the world as well. America is still the beacon that the world looks towards for guidance and security. This November we have the chance to make sure that the shining light the world sees is based in the light of Christ. Please, do not take the elections lightly. Talk to your loved ones, get into the Word, and pray for guidance. The future is what we make it, all is in our hands. God is not done with our country, He has a plan! Take heart, do not get discouraged, and know that all we accomplish will be for the glory of God! God bless you all!
